Brakefield at Riverwalk Grand Opening | Charlotte Wedding Photographers

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the grand opening celebration of the Brakefield at Riverwalk. The Brakefield is the newest wedding venue in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Brakefield was designed from the ground up for weddings. It has a beautiful bridal parlor, a grooms room and even a room for vendors. How great is that? The Brakefield has an awesome waterfront setting for outdoor ceremonies for those that enjoy the great outdoors. The venue is also great for parties and corporate events. The grand opening was coordinated by Ivy of The Silk Veil Events. She did an fantastic job as usual. There were several great vendors in attendance including Images of Power, April’s floral Expressions, Heaven Sent Catering, Royal Rides, Carolina Cake Artistry, Split Second Sound, Melanie Rowe Catering, Lily Greenthumb’s and many more. Maternity Session Sneak Peek | Charlotte Maternity Photographer

I recently had the opportunity to do a maternity session for the Goodson family . I photographed them a few years ago when they were preparing for the birth of their first son. I am honored that they contacted me again to do another maternity session for their second child. Most of the photo session was done in their home using natural light but we did venture out to the neighborhood park for a few photos. The photo below was the first photo of the session. It was taken in an office using window light. It’s always great when I can leave the lighting gear behind and use natural light.

I’m behind on blogging images but I’ll be sharing a few engagement sessions and bridal photos over the next few days. The image below was from a bridal session that I did several weeks ago. We faced some cold temperatures but it was worth it. I really like the dress that this bride is wearing. I’ve photographed a lot of brides so I’ve seen all types of dresses but this one was different from many of the ones that I have seen.

Here is another photo from the last bridal shoot that I did for a national bridal magazine. I had a ton of fun doing this shoot. I felt like a kid in a toy store. It’s always great when I can do whatever I want to do during a photo shoot. You typically won’t see a beautiful bride standing around old rusty pipes, wood and other junk but you do in this picture. I love the juxtaposition of the bride in this junkyard. She still stands out from the visual chaos of junk. You don’t always need a beautiful rose garden or venue to create a beautiful image. There is beauty all around us. You just have to find it.

A few weekends ago I drove down to Belmont, NC to photograph the wedding of Deandrea and Prince. The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden . Deandrea and Prince are my youngest wedding clients. They almost made me feel old. It was great to see a young couple in love. They both recently finished college and are ready to take on the world. I wish them luck as they start their lives together. Here are a few images from their wedding.
